Breaking News: Heart Attacks and Strokes are linked to Stress

17 January 2017 -

It may seem like stating the obvious that there is a link between stress and heart attack or strokes.  However, the reason for this has remained a mystery - until now!

New research, published in The Lancet, suggests a group of scientists have discovered why severe anxiety can contribute to someone suffering a heart attack or stroke.  More importantly, this may be the first step to finding a way to prevent such life threatening incidents.

The theory is that the part of our brain responsible for producing white blood cells can become overstimulated by stress.  Too many white blood cells can lead to plaques forming in the arteries.  This in turn could cause heart disease.
